18th March 2008 - No training over Easter weekend

The Royals have a free weekend this coming weekend, with no match on Sunday and no training planned for Saturday. Royals' next fixture will be on Sunday 30th March away to Tenbury North.

17th March 2008 - Another postponed game for the Royals

Bad weather again caused a postponement in the Royals' itinerary. This time the match against Presteigne was called off due to the heavy rainfall over the border from about lunchtime on Saturday. Fortunately the news came on Saturday evening which meant that the team did not have to make the 26 mile journey to the ground.

The postponement means that the Royals are now 4 games behind schedule again, 2 against Coreley and 2 against Presteigne.

12th March 2008 - Presteigne match preview

With 6 league games left to play, the Royals could take a big step towards the title this weekend when they travel to John Beddoes School to take on Presteigne. Their opponents are the remotest team from Church Stretton in the league at a distance of 26 miles and Royals have already made the trip twice this season.

A full squad is expected to be available, with the exception of Josh Cochrane who is still out injured.

The game takes place on Sunday 16th March 2008, with a 10:30am kick off.
Royals will be playing blue.

10th March 2008 - Cochrane out for several weeks

Royals striker Josh Cochrane is likely to miss several more games after his muscle tear appears to be more serious than first thought. The player is receiving ultra sound treatment on the injury in the hope that it can speed up the healing process. The club have wished Josh a speedy recovery.

9th March 2008 - Royals edge through to cup final

Royals just did enough to earn their place in the cup final today, after defeating Coreley by two goals to nil at Clee Hill. In fine conditions, despite horrendous weather forecasts, Coreley refused to bow down to the Royals and their dogged determination tested the Stretton team and made for an enthralling cup tie.

Grinker opened the scoring in the first half with a spectacular overhead kick, and Hearle added to that in the second period making sure of the result, and a final against either Onny Eagles or Tenbury North.

6th March 2008 - Coreley cup semi-final preview

Royals prepare for their cup semi-final this week, after which they will travel to Clee Hill to meet Coreley on Sunday. The prize will be a place in final at the SBS stadium in May, against either Onny Eagles or Tenbury North.

The teams have met twice before this season with the Royals coming out 4-1 and 4-1 victors. However the teams have not yet met at Coreley's Clee Hill ground, a venue where they have struggled in previous seasons.

The game takes place on Sunday with an 11:30am kick off.
Royals will be playing in Red.

2nd March 2008 - 10 man Royals through to semi-final

Royals fought their way through to the semi-final of the cup today after beating Presteigne 5-2 at Russell's Meadow. In a match full of incident in which 3 players were booked, one player sent off and 3 penalties awarded, Royals had to dig deep to grind out the result.

Goals from Robinson (2 pens), Lock, Carless-Turland and Lewis made sure of the result. The team can now look forward to next weekend's semi-final against Coreley.

A full match report can be read here.
